Default lift question d1

i picked up a 98 D1 . planning on lifting it like my RRC.

i plan on lifting my truck 3 inches. will i need to do any drive line work. or will it be just like my classic. springs brake lines an shocks.

i saw the 5 inch lift springs. an they are recommending drive lines. along with the brake lines an shocks. i am fairly interested in going 5 inches. depending on the cost of drive line work. an who seems to have the most reliable drive lines?

i would like to know how your 3 and 5 inch lifts act for you on the d1's.

also is the d1 24 or 10 spline? i also noticed unlike my rrc this truck has the low an high lock .

A 98 is a 24 spline.
As for a 3" lift, you are getting into the grey area when it comes to frive lines, so be prepared.

Classic was a little longer, may be depending on which one you had, the short, classic or LWB.

i had the shorter wheel base. so as i understand it. the axles an trans , engines are all the same.

the one i picked is a 40th or 50th anniversary. is there any thing i should know about it. i figure its pretty much the same as the rest of the d1s.

do the 98's have the aluminum block? an is there any thing i can do to ensure that i wont be having any sleeve problems? other than not over heating the engine.

yes your 98 D1 has an aluminum block..As far as lift goes 3" your about at your limit with your front driveshaft angle. I had to get a new front driveshaft made for mine with a double cardan at the t/case. Also 3" will really affect the caster angles on the front end and to fix that is new radius arms and new swivel balls, at least thats what it took to fix mine...
Good Luck
