i just bought my first land rover, its an 01, disco 2 (pics are on the way!!) it really needs dressing up a bit. im looking for a steel front bumper and brush guard as well as a roof rack. i have no idea where to start looking or which brands are best. suggestions?
You'll save yourself a ton of money buying used, you'll have to be patient though, I am checking out (and hopefully purchasing) a safari rack I found on craigslist, and I bought a brush guard for my DI, a while back for $300 on eBay.
BTW, Congrats on the new rig! Welcome to the sickness!

yeah im definately going to have to go the "used" route. ARB looks nice but too expensive. as for the roof rack,im pretty good with my MIG welder and am seriously looking at making a rack myself out of 1in square tubing. anybody know how to get the brackets that attach the rack to the gutter of the roof?
Check your local auto wreckers for full to midsize trucks or suvs. Make sure you take the measurement of your existing bumper mounts and frame width as well as a tape measure with you. You might have to add some 3/8's plate or modify the bumper or brush gaurd mounts, do some sanding and painting. The local salvage yards are always having vehicles come in with all kinds of goodies. No, it will not be rockware or arb, but it will provide service and get you down the trail. I hope this helps provide another option for you.
