My 2004 Disco running ORI struts
Just finished the ORI strut install on my 2004 Disco. Mark Elliot from Purpletop Garage made it all possible.
I can't believe the difference these struts make. The ride is incredible and the truck handles great even without the sway bar connected. The rig is more stable and sure footed while articulating. 6-8" ruts at 40mph are no problem.
2004 Disco
ORI struts
ARB air lockers front and rear
Great Basin Rovers HD drive shafts front and rear
RTE-Engineering Watts Links and adjustable Pan Hard Bar
Safari Guard bumpers
Rock-Slide Engineering rock sliders
Purpletop Garage custom radius arms
ARB LED spots and flood lights (I like to call them artificial Daylight)
Warn Zeon 10S winch
Toyo M/T 285/75R16

So what is the model number of the Front & Rear ORI struts and where did you buy them? It seems like a cool project. So you are saying you cut out the rear frame and inserted that indention. And also made a custom brace for the front shock towers? Are you at a 4" lift with those? I'd like to keep my 2 -2.5" Old Man Emu height but those are way cool.

ORI Struts
Mark from purpletopgarage.com did the install. Give him a call and he can help you get the right struts for your rig.
They are 10" struts and are close to 5" lift. Mark would be able to let you know what you would need to stay in the 2-3" area.
Since our frame are so thin he had to re-enforce the frame. The rear shock towers extend into the cab of the truck with a 2" bar connecting them to displace the forces to the top of the shock towers.
In the front we had to extend the shock towers and tied them together with a 1" cold rolled steel.
