Default Self Installed Lift

What are your guys' opinion on putting my lift kit on my disco 2 myself? Any warnings or things I should watch out for?

Go watch lucky8's videos. It is fairly easy if you have any mechanical skill. Took me only about 2 hours.

Use your bottle jack to increase the distance between your frame and axle to install the taller springs.

I had put on many lifts from Explorers to Jeeps, and now to my Disco, all at my driveway. Jackstand, common sense, muscles, and bottle jack. That is all u need, and have fun

Be ready to do more than coils and springs. I have a wandering effect I still haven't gotten rid of.

Going to try castor correcting arms next.

i spring compressor will make things go easier also, the spring fit in without force and you do not have to disconnect the sway bars.

+ 1 on this. I've done lifts solo on two discos and can do all four corners in ~2hrs. Just get the frame solidly on jack stands and use the factory bottle jack between the axle and the frame to push the axle down away from the spring perch. It would definitely go smoother if you disconnect the sway bar - but I've never bothered.

I'm no expert but you definitely have to consider having stuff like a heavy duty floor jack (can withstand at least 3 tons), jack stands, and breaker bars to add leverage. If you don't have enough time to do it in one day, you will need ample garage space. Lots of sites that can guide you step by step. It would be good if you ask friends to come over and give you a hand. Good luck!
