Top 5 Offroad Modifications on your Rover for $2500 or under
Thought I would throw this out there for folks who have been wanting to modify their Rover slightly, but so far have left it fully stock. My Discovery was fully stock for 3 years. Then the fun began. The thought behind this thread was was to get the most bang for you buck for around $2500 or under, depending on Craigslist and eBay finds. So I thought I would list my favorite finds in order. This list I think are the most important mods you can buy to take your Rover from a grocery getter to a better off road truck, with minimal investment. Tires, lift, Steel bumpers, Skid plates, winch. List your brands and great prices.
Tires: Goodyear DuraTrac 265/75/16 $630 new installed craigslist....deal of the year.
Lift: Required for that tire size. Old Man Emu 2" $385 eBay take off from a flooded rover 5000 miles on lift from new. perfect shape.
Steel Bumper: Bottorf front w/ skid plate --Rear bumper custom made by me. $550 + $250 rear bumper.
This is about the minimum I would seriously off road with. I have sliders and the CDL is now being installed by me. I am just getting into off roading but dont like breaking stuff, then buying what I should have bought in the first place!

I haven't had much luck in the used off-road add-on department, but I have found/bought/sold couple safari racks, and even scored an SD rack a couple weeks ago for $400.
My build is geared more towards dispersed camping instead of rock crawling as I also not enjoy constantly breaking things
Mine are:
1. 5 NATO rims and 5 Procomp mud terrain tires 80% tread- $150
2. Wilderness roof basket W/ 4 PIAA lights- $500
3. Rovertyme Diff guard- $75 (It was $125, but I had a $50 gift card that I had won)
The first 2 where from craigslist
