Weather stripping my door

Weather stripping my door
I recently went through the car wash and noticed my DII was leaking water around the door frame. The DII had some cheap weather stripping on the inside of the seal surface from the previous owner so I just left it in place. Well it finally started to come off and loose it's stickiness so I decided to upgrade to a different verson of weather stripping.
Marine Grade Rubber Weatherseal from Lowes.
It was wider than the original seal and has a wider adhesive strip so I hope it will last a lot longer and at least keep out the rain.
Nice wide adhesive strip.
I first put on the top seal. Then I placed the end of the 2nd seal under the top seal and ran it down the door to the rubber molding and cut it off there.
I cut this at a slight angle to go along with the door frame.
I thought I would try to run the seal down the door past the trim or insert. It seemed to stick OK because of the wider adhesive surface of the seal. Time will tell on this one. I can always cut it off later if I need to.
The finished product seems to be working. I will try the car wash next week and see how it does in there. I haven't noticed any road noise either. So, for around $17.50 I got these seals from our friends from Lowes. Marine grade as well.
