Wheel Upgrade Options for 2002 Range Rover 4.6 HSE
Greetings everyone; I have a 2002 4.6 HSE - has the stock 18" wheels on it, which aesthetically are looking kind of angry at this point. I am refinishing the interior and exterior so I need to make rim decisions. I've read quite a bit about upgrades, but no definitive answers on the best way to go. I just did the coil suspension conversion btw.
1st, if I go with 19" or 20" wheels, how much will this effect going off road (let's say not extreme off road, but moderate back roads in mud and snow - we do have a farm in the mountains). What is the threshold of size to performance?
2nd, If I do move up to 19" or 20", I've read that the wheels from 2003-2012 Range Rovers will not fit? Is this true?
3rd, Let's say I stay with the current rim size (stock tires were 255/55-18) - one local shop recommended going with a larger tire - any recommendations or tips on how that will affect performance or maneuverability?
Thank you in advance! Cheers, Scot
