Default Will 95 parts fit 97 Disco

I currently have a 97 Disco, I bought it used and it has some issues. There is a shop who has a 95 disco that I want to buy for parts but before I do I need to know if the 95 disco parts will fit my 97 disco?

body parts yes, engines are different management systems 95 is OBD1 and a 3.9 rather than your OBD2 4.0. lots of similar parts but a lot of the small sensors and stuff that you would likely steal from it would be different.

what about the major parts? Will I have to check each part to see if it will fit?

Most things other than the engine controls and some of the electronics will fit. The whole drive train, beyond the engine, is the same.
All the lights will fit. The 95 doesn't have the indicator in the tail light cluster but it can be easily modified to accept the bulb and work,

What parts do you need?
As a general rule any engine parts from a pre '96 will not fit but the trans, t-case, axles etc. will.

Depends on what you are looking to do with it.
95% of the parts will fit, just not the engine or computers.
Rims, glass, body panels, interior...it all fits.
Except the front seats, only power seats will switch over, if the '95 has manual seats they wont bolt right in.
You will need to modify them.

What about the fuel pump, water pump? Is there a site I can check to compare parts for fit? I'm not wanting to replace the engine just some bits. I understand not everything will fit. I just want to know if buying the "junked" 95 is going to be worth the time and effort. There is nothing wrong with the 95 really just a busted out window and needs a new paint job and maybe a few other cosmetic things.

Fuel pump yes and no. The actual pump appears to be the same. If the 97 has AEL the 95 assembly won't work. Well, it will, but you'll have a constant CEL.
No specific sites for a part by part comparison, but you can check RN or AB, look up the part you're wondering about and see if it lists two different ones for 95 and 95.
