Angry Wiper Blades 2000 Disco II

Is there a conversion kit or way to convert oem wiper arms. I've been unable to find a manufacturer for replacement wipers anywhere other than the dealer or online. Anything would be appreciated.

My understanding is that D1 wiper arms will fit.

YES D1 WIPERS arms WILL FIT ON YOUR D2. IT IS A STRAIGHT REMOVE/REPLACE SWAP. THEN YOU CAN GET NORMAL 16" (?) WIPER BLADES FROM AUTOZONE OR WALMART OR WHEREVER FOR YOUR D2.

I am doing mine as we speak.
After installing the D1 arms, buy a set of 21" Bosch or better, new style wiper blade that give much better window coverage.

You can get cut to fit replacement rubber for the factory D2 blades at Adv Auto or Autozone with a metal alloy rib on it and slide it in. Also, found a source for inexpensive rear wiper blades.

www.rovahfarm.com

They have good prices on other parts as well.

2) MD OME Springs still need to get some shocks
3) Used SD rack that came with 4 Hellas and a rear work light

GO HOKIES!!

It is not so much that you can't do a cut to fit blade, but the D2 wiper arms as well as the spring assembly become weak and don't give you the proper tension to the glass.

Have you tried your local Advance Auto (or other parts store) for Trico - Part 21-11?

Mike:

Is 21" the size you would recommend? I'm picking up a set of D1 arms at the dealership in a couple days, and plan to grab new blades on the way home.

Also, the new arms will have new spring assemblies, right? Mine lost their tension before a bad snowfall, and the wipers would miss the bottom 1/3 of the windshield every time they would try to swipe. Not cool. Just want to make sure there aren't additional parts I'll need to order to do this the right way.

So went to purchase some new wiper blades at the Autozone for my recently purchased 2002 Discovery and found out they had to special order them. A pair of front blades with tax was $54.00.

Where do you guys get your blades from?

I put 20" Bosch blades on mine after I did the DI arm conversion the other year. I could probably squeeze 21" blades on it, but the 1/2" unwiped area at the very top and very bottom of the windshield is insignificant. I believe I paid $10 from a local salvage yard for the D1 arms.
