Default wiring tips/tricks

what are the best wiring meathods for KC lights on a roof rack? where do i splice into the trucks wiring, or do i make a totaly new circuit? i would like to instal a switch on the dash.

I would make a whole new circuit....if you splice into something you risk overloading it
