Default 1982 Land Rover

Hi all - well we are the proud owners of a 1982 L/R station wagon in all its original condition excpting the power steering! Hubby and I are off around oz at end of Feb and the old rover is going to be towing our home (an old cavalier camper trailer). We've still lots to organise but Feb can't come soon enough for us. I will definately be seeking and welcoming advice from anyone.

Not sure our download tech manuals go back quite that far, I did see some 1987 models in there. Might want to search out our download, and if not what you need, get a paper copy from elsewhere on the web to carry on your travels. Also basic spares pack, like radiator hoses, belts, thermostat, etc. Little things that you can buy easily, so that a minor breakdown does not keep you hostage for shipping delays. Most mechanics can handle an older Rover with the right manual. Would be a good idea to go over brakes, wheel bearings, change fluids and filters, and service drive shaft universal joints, your old Rover will be seeing increased load with the towing. The open road awaits.
