Default 1996 Disco I in Denver

Hello all. Two days ago I bought a Red '96 Discovery, on impulse. Probably not the brightest thing to do, but I justified it as I needed a way to get around in the damn snow.

I'm not new to 4x4's, I had an Explorer XLT up until the wife and I moved to Denver from Washington, DC this past January. That was not a great 4x4 and I could only take two cars with, and it was the third. So almost a year later I'm very happy to have a new to me and much more capable 4x4 vehicle.

This beast does seem to need a fair amount of work, but I've already found the tech section useful and plan to fix a few things over the next week while on stay-cation. So thanks already for the help! I'm sure I'll be seeking much more in the coming weeks.

Also, Merry Christmas!

Welcome! Download the RAVE manuals. They are factory manuals that make trouble shooting all the easier. Also, if you have a question: contact Discomike who is moderator on this site. He is located in Denver. He is a retired rover mechanic that is factory certified. Really nice guy.
Don't be afraid to search for what your looking for first in the tech section. If you don't find it, then go ahead and ask away before you even think of picking up a wrench! Also, check fluids at least once a week: I am tired of reading about people not realizing they were low on oil and........
Welcome again.

Thanks for the welcome and advice! I had a feeling there might be a few enthusiasts in Denver.
