Default Just brought a 1997 Range

hi everyone,
I just brought a range rover 1997 and the guy I brought it from told me, that it does over-heat. So Im trying to figuere out, why it does. Here is a pic of what i took when I had to park when it over-heated on me. ANY information is helpful! I believe all the coolant is on the hose, and not going in the engine... maybe they put the wrong way the thermostat???

FIRST: DO NOT DRIVE IT IF IT OVER HEATS. You will bust a head gasket for sure, maybe warp a head, or even crack the block. Secondly: I would check the fan clutch. It should ROAR at start up and then slowly die down. It should only spin a half a turn when warmed up. If it spins freely then its bad. You can search on here for a chevy van fan clutch that fits it. Its cheaper than rover. Thirdly: When was the last time you checked your coolant level? Fourthly: DO you hear a waterfall sound in the dash when you drive??? If so........ Well tell me before I say what it "COULD" be...

Profeth,

You have real problems. Don't drive truck until you check out. Start a new thread over under Discovery 1 or General Tech help and you'll get more help. See you over there.
