new, florida, 02 freelander

hey everyone, my name is tom. live in florida. picked up a 02 freelander a few weeks ago. the previous owner thought the timing belt broke so he sold it to me for 2000.00, hes the original owner , has 56,000 miles on it. pulled the heads off, found the main timing belts tensioner broke. which allowed all 6 of the rear valves to meet the top of the rear 3 pistons. in the process of ordering 6 rear exhaust valves, timing components, water pump, thermostat housing, head gaskets. will post pictures up soon!

And if you have not already, download your own copy of the RAVE factory overhaul, shop, owners, and electrical manuals, free at link below. Will want new battery in that truck, it has way too many electronic things and a good battery stops a lot of gremlins. From quotes from pro dealer and specialty mechanics that are members, this may not be the last of your problems. Go ahead and re-route drain that leaks on the $400 heater/AC fan.
