Default New guy w/1995 RRC

Hey everybody I just picked up a 1995 RRC LWB in this nice blue color. I'm really looking forward to getting this truck back to a 7 or 8 out of 10. I'm guessing it will need about a $1k to $1.5k to get it back to something nice for my wife to drive the new baby and dogs around in. I think the CV's will be the trickiest thing to repair. Other than that it just needs driver set motor, I think, it will adjust when you are not seated but will not move if you’re in it. Then, just the typical stuff just to prevent breakdowns on the side of the road. I look forward to tapping all the expertise on this forum. I'm pretty active of the FJ cruiser forum and it has saved me tons of cash.

Welcome, please take advantage of the free download of the factory set of tech manuals (workshop, electrical, body/interior, owner's manuals) called the RAVE. If seat motor conks out some have adjusted the seat to desired spot by attaching a variable speed drill to the cable from the motor (like an old speedometer cable). Not sure how much change there is from year to year, but salvage yards typically sell the whole seat for $25 or so, and you can get a couple of motors out of them. There are also dismantlers to consider. My Disco motors look just like some in the Mercedes, don't know how common that supplier is across the pond. And our technical sections in the forums list lots of high miles repair tips.
