I have seen that before.
No you cant drain it into your drive because it will be full of contaminates from the inside of your engine.
Animal fat oils smell really really really really, did I mention really, bad.
They protect as well as a dino oil, but smell way worse.
One of my old customers, a factory, used that type of oil to lube their presses, 60+ ton presses to stamp steel, these presses were 50 years old and still cranked out stock 3 shifts a day 5 days a week.
Not to be Debbie Downer. But if we all started using bio diesel and animal fat oil it wouldn't really help our environment. I think we have screwed the planet beyond repair. Just spend some time in the woods in West Virgina and southern OH and see mountain top removal strip mining. How can that be legal! I think the car oil is the least of our worries. Using this and driving a 4 cylinder car might make you feel better inside. Maybe making sure all the car oil we use gets recycled properly would be a great idea. But over all the American mentality to consume is what is hurting us. I try to buy most everything I can used. I shop 98% on eBay and Craigslist. I only buy food new...of course! You would be surprised how liberated you feel when you remove the retail markup from your life. The person to invent the next super cell battery that holds a long long charge will be a billionaire. Battery technology is about 25 years delayed. I don't really think the electric car is the answer, but finding a way to not charge it on coal powered electric plants is a step in the right direction.
My way to give back to the earth is not to reproduce, by choice not necessity
Oh, I doubt that guy really uses that oil in his yellow Ferrari! On Amazon.com

Boss I dont know how to "LIKE" your comment on here but I LIKE it.
I agree 100%, my SUV is not hurting the planet, its the big companies paying the small fines so they can continue polluting.
And as the the open pit mining...where in the world is that even legal? I mean come on!! Blowing the top off of a mountain and taking what you want and then planting a couple of trees when you are done? Seriously?
And do people even know where the lithium to make the hybrid batteries comes from? Open pit mining.
Saving the planet is simple, reduce-reuse-recycle.

I was kidding!!! I take all my oil & coolant to the trucking company I work for and they recycle it.

Personally, I think CNG/LPG is the way to go. 25kmi for oil changes, 100kmi for spark plugs, same fuel economy as gas. And last I looked, CNG was $1.40GGE (gasoline gallon equivalent) The problem is availability. They sell CNG Honda's and Ford Pickups at the NY State vehicle auction. But unless you're a state employee, your filling stations are very limited. And down here in the South..... well good luck.
Better yet, have you seen the bio bug? It runs off "you" (human waste )

I knew you were kidding about dumping the used oil in the driveway but someone else who reads this may not have know that and literally dumped the used oil on the driveway, the way we used to do in the summer time to keep the dust down on our dirt driveway when I lived in the country years and years ago.
As for that VW...they need to collect all the methane from the landfills and use it in restaurants and what nots to cook with.
There are generators that will run on it, some landfill's use these generators running on methane for power.
Others just burn it off which is a huge waste.
But that VW is a pretty cool concept.
Boss & Spike, I agree and "Like" (I'm new so Hi, nice to meet you!)
Spike - I can't remember what is being powered but somewhere someone is harnessing methane from cows and using it for power... Hmm... I'll have to look into that one again.
As the driver of a 30+ mpg car for the past 6 years & a self proclaimed car loving tree hugger I thought long and hard about my new purchase of a gas guzzling V8! (granted it is replacing a '90 Jeep Grand Waggoneer that makes my new Disco look like a Prius & not my full time driver - I kept the 30+ MPG for commuting, plus it's faster than my Disco!)
I recycle, reuse, grow a lot my own food or buy from small organic farmers close to home & do all I can to do my share. I don't have kids so my carbon footprint is minor compared to many!
Anyway... On the "Big Corporations Polluting & Strip Mining" comment
I HIGHLY recommend watching "GASLAND"
It's terrifying and eye opening about the Fracking method of extracting natural gas from shale deposits, leaving hundreds of chemicals that often seep into ground water & the Corporations are exempt from the Clean Water Act law (go figure!)
I don't care what side you vote for this is a major, major environmental nightmare!
When you can light your tap water on fire (Literally) you know it's bad!
I really do recommend seeing it (it was an HBO doc that is getting theatrical release early next month)
