I recently found out my Great Grandfather, James Madison Bridges was Creek Indian and fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy. He went on to become a Georgia State Representative for Fayette County Ga in the 1870's.

I received a picture of him from the Civil War Days from a distant cousin who helped do the research.

I am part Native American.
I have no idea how much, but I know I am.

I am one of three honkies on an all native hockey team . they are Micmac native to the east coast of Canada and one of my good friends is Metis and my nephew is Denis. Wonderful people whom we have done an awful disservice to, hopefully in time they will get what they need , take care
