Not sure what a John Wayne salute is, but this is what I was referencing. It was all over the media when it happened.

Our military Commander-in-Chief, should salute. Every President saluted except Obama. He's in the Military now as Chief, notice all Generals answer to him! Not an insult.

 

I'm not sure if that is an "improvement" over this pathetic attempt. What a joke!

 

I appear to have hit a nerve on this one. However, different sides of the pond equal different traditions, only military serving or served personnel salute other military here and we wouldn't have a political person as chief of staff.

However, I did like Obama but I'll reserve judgement about Trump as he still has a long road ahead of him as yet, whether he makes his full 4 year hike remains to be seen.

I know, I know, UK politics is in crisis so is half of europe also it seems.

I certainly wouldn't hang my hat on Theresa May, the headmistress, walking away with a trade deal with Trump and the US but stranger things have happened.

 

Limp wristed attempt is a John Wayne salute, non-military types and it's common. As long as they attempt a gesture wtf cares. I wouldn't expect them to hit a running Hajji at 500+meters with an M16 who put a shot in my bud's neck either. So take the two dimes in your pocket and buy another life. I had all the ammo I could ask for, that's their job and they did it. Got it, get it, good!

One other thing, I had a one star salute me. I sharply saluted him back, we laughed, shook hands and shot the shiite. Military is what you make of it, get all wrapped around yourself and you'll be the first in a one size fits all black zipper bag. We're all human first, everything else that doesn't matter, second.

If anyone's butt hurt well use softer toilet paper. My compliments, no offense taken.
