Default Oil pressure gremlin

I have a '72 Series3 swb Rover that is showing what appears to be a stuck oil pressure gauge/sending unit. The idiot light goes out promptly when started but the gauge peaks at about 25-30 psi and doesn't fluctuate - makes no diff the speed or idle. Could this be the gauge or sending unit going bad? The engine was rebuilt about 15k miles ago and it has never overheated, etc. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You might buy a $10 oil gauge set and do a temp install at engine and watch the pressure on new gauge. Don't have to mount just plug in where sensor is now and watch. If it shows difference, then if your sensor is electric, replace or if line replace unit. The electrics also have a voltage check which can be done situ.
