Just curious, what is wrong with your old engine?
You know, you can throw a 4.6 in there in place of the 4.0.

The 99 D1 that is driven daily has some Cam and tappet noise. Would rather keep driving it and slowly build a new one. About the 4.6; wouldn't it require a complete wire harness, ECM/Relay swap? And what about the throttle cable, etc. etc.. I'm kicking myself in the !@# because I tossed my 97 D1 4.0L when I moved. Got $80 for the alluminum but now I want it back.
