I'm trying to figure out the culprit to my radio issue.
I have power stations am/fm tune even cassette plays but I have no volume. I was thinking possibly the AMP is bad but the navigational audio is still coming through. Could this still be the amp and is this the amp located in the cargo area passenger side. Anything else I should check.

The amp could be bad, I have heard that the head units go out more frequently. At least mine did . You might consider taking it to a radio shop and have them see if the amp is in fact bad. I don't know if you know someone else with a rover, but if you swap a good head unit into yours, and it does the same thing. Then that at least rules out the head unit. I would also check ebay for used units as well. Got a good one there for a great deal.

Look in the L/S cargo area in front of the amp and subwoofer. I've seen the wire harness short on the body underneath the sound absorbing padding. I forget where the amp fuse is you would want to check that first.

There may not even be a dsp amp in your vehicle. The subwoofer amp wiring may be shorted. The fuses you should check are in the becm under passenger seat. F1 F8 F15
I just traced one of these out last week. The DSP amp powers all the speakers, and it is behind the subwoofer.
The sub has its own internal amp but is still driven thru the dsp amp
If you have 12v to the purple wire and the brown wire, and have a good ground black wire
(refer to rave for pin locations) you'll probably need an amp.
Don't bother trying to open it up you'll never find the problem unless you're an electrical genius.
