Default Adaptive Cruise Control constantly beeping?

I test drove a 2011 RR/SC that had the adaptive cruise control option, which also come with the frontal crash alert. During our test drive the front crash alert went off several times when I wasn’t anywhere close to hitting the car in front of me. Can anyone with this option comment on their experiences?

I’ve also be interested to know how well you think the adaptive cruise control works. Is the braking and acceleration natural and similar to how you drive, or is it jerky and abrupt?

There might be a way to turn the alerts off. Our jag has this option, and from what I understand, the systems are one in the same or at least very similar, especially since Jaguar and Land Rover share so much technology with each other. They call it "forward alert". It will go off when you are about 50 or so feet from the car in front of you.

With the adaptive cruise control our Jag will match the speed of the car in front of us using the brake and throttle even when traffic is going as slow as 25mph. It will then speed up gracefully to the "set speed" once the morons in front find the damn accelerator.
