Default good deal on RRC?

Saturday I'am going to look at a '94 RRC. I have an 02 Discovery lifted etc...but i have never even driven a rrc. Anyway, i found this thing on craigslist for $1500. Iam going to offer him $900 cash and move up from there. Here are some pictures that i have. He says it "runs good." However, the battery keeps draining (but i think this should be an easy fix.) As long as it is not completely infiltrated with rust and does not have any major mechanical problems i think this is a good deal. Please if anyone knows of something specific that i should look for besides rust and headgasket issues...please advise. thanks.

Looks a little rough around the edges. However, if you can get it for 900 or even 1200. I'd go for it. The parts on it alone are worth that. Plus if it drives great and seems to be alright, it will make a great vehicle. Classics are relentless if they get the TLC they need. I would check the transmission and transfer case. Put the transmission in drive put your foot on the brake and push the gas and see if it gets above 2500rpms. If it does not its a good transmission. BTW don't GUN IT, you'll blow it up even if it is good. Give it enough gas just to bring it to 2500 and see if it goes any higher. And only do it for a few seconds. I wouldn't be too concerned about the head gaskets. The old rover engines are almost bullet proof. $10 bucks says the reason the battery is draining is because they turned the radio off while the CD player was in the middle of a track. The computer tries to remember where you left off and uses a lot of power while doing so.

It looks like it is already at a junk yard, does it run?

I know a guy around here that buys them right and left for $500.
