Default GPS location is correct but compass direction just rotates

2003 Ranger Rover and it had been months since I had used the NAV and yesterday i tried to use it. The directions started well but then I noticed recalculation and wrong turns. When I looked at the map, it showed my location correctly but my direction kept rotating clockwise at about 30 degrees per second.

So it looks like GPS location is OK but compass is incorrect. I think most GPS receivers determine direction by movement in location, but I don't know about this system.

Has anyone a fix for this?

Is there a way to reset the system?

Does anyone know the location of the GPS receiver?
