Ownership has been GREAT. I've paid a pretty penny to keep the Rangie happy and on the road but it rides so wonderfully and has so much character that I'm fine doing so.

A few things that have been done :

- Added 20" Range Rover Stormer wheels off the Rover Sport Supercharged edition
- Michelin supersport tires for the wheels
- Euro lights all around (clear instead of amber colored)
- Xenon headlights and fog lights
- LED lights for the license plate illumination
- Changed out struts for rear tailgate
- Replaced the compressor for the air suspension twice
- Had Airpark Rovers (great shop BTW) change out : oil cooler, calipers, rotors, pads, a million different gaskets, heater core, etc. It's been probably about 1k in repairs every 6 months or so.
- Installed a Pioneer head unit for Nav and iPod integration : https://landroverforums.com/forum/ra...install-39948/
- Tinted windows (20%)
- Redid the front bumper in forever black.

It's been a lot of work but I got the car with 90k on it and now have 130... I can easily say it's been a wonderful ownership process. The only hiccup now is that the air suspension randomly decides it will raise itself somewhat frequently (maybe once every other week)... it will even do it on the highway which can be a little freaky. If you press the suspension down button, it will usually just lower back tot he normal/appropriate height.. but my shop owner is a little confused what's causing it.

I had a feeling you were from my area when I saw your reference to Flagship carwash in an earlier post. Then the mention of Airpark Rovers confirmed it.

Great looking ride and impressive list of tweaks.

I came very close to an '02 P38 in Oslo Blue. I went to check it out and was about to get a pre-purchase inspection by Independent Land Rover Specialists in Bethesda. About that time, the spouse started in with the "I think you're crazy to get a 12 y.o. vehicle but hey, it's your decision." I think we all know what that really means, esp if you're blessed with a wife of 25 years (this June).

Anyway, I went with an '11 LR4 HSE (Stornoway Grey/jet) still under warranty (30K miles upon delivery). Happy wife, happy life. I love it and am glad to be back in the Rover fold (drove an '07 RR HSE for a couple of years).

This is not really thread drift. I wanted to thank you because I am still secretly eyeing that '02 and this thread will be a great resource if/when I bring it home...or one like it.

I tried to keep the mods on this truck subtle and in line with the overall class of the vehicle. I didn't want to "thug it out" or make it look "cool". Rather, just wanted to update the look and provide some modern accessories.

My p38 heated seats don't work either. I have not figured out why yet, so if you have please share. Also, if you start to hear and loud TINK, TINK, TINK sound when accelerating but stops when coasting it will most likely be the dive chain in the transfer case. They usually last about 100 to 110 thousand miles before they stretch out so much they begin to slip on the sprockets they link together. About a 600 dollar repair if you let a shop do it and source your own chain. I use mine as an offroad toy and let me tell you...Nothing will go like a P38! They are a beast offroad. Especially the late ones like 99-02. They had TC on all 4 wheels instead of just the back like early ones. Doubt you will be offroad much since yours is one of the cleanest p38 ive ever seen. Nice truck man!

For the rover heads

Fully lowered

Fully raised

I just got hit with a not so fun bill. All four of the air suspension indicator lights are lit up and the "fully raised" icon is lit up on the dash. I called Airpark Rover and they said it's definitely a valve block issue. $950 dollars later, I've ordered a new block and Dan is sourcing the driver. Will be another 500 or so for install.

Used hubcentric rings and had to use the lug nuts off the newer rovers.
