2016 Evoque
We recently traded our 2013 RR Evoque for a 2016 model. I was quite hesitant at first because, to be candid, I didn't really like the car. The ride was worse than our LR2, which I love to death (dead battery and rear diff issues aside), and I didn't care for the turbo lag. But my wife still liked the vehicle so we went ahead and did a test drive of the 2016. BIG DIFFERENCE! They changed the suspension, giving it a more comfortable feel on the road, and added an extra gear which greatly reduces the turbo lag. It's still pretty much a street car and, obviously, doesn't have the carrying capacity of the new Disco. Nevertheless, it's a lot more fun to drive and I really like it. In February LR had discounts on Evoques so, although still a pretty expensive car, we got a reasonable lease on it. Highly recommend it.

They added an extra 3 gears actually, from a 6 speed to a 9 speed in 2014. General feedback has been that the 9 speed was not an improvement though, especially in reliability. Hopefully in the 2 years since it was introduced they've been able to work out some of the software issues.
I have a friend looking for a used Evoque and told him to look at 2013's due to the transmission issues on 2014's.

2016 Evoque cruise won't hold speed
Hello.. I am new to the forum and need some help.. 2016 Evoque.. Cruise gains 5 to 6 MPH going down 4% grade that is only 1/2 mile long.. Has anyone else had this issue.. Of course the dealer says it's normal.. Who's going to pay my fine if I get pulled over.. What is I wreck because it won't hold speed.. It really is a nice car.. The turbo lag even with the 9 speed is horrendous!!.. Lastly is seems not to put out much air to the feet area on HVAC.. Those three things are all "Normal" if you ask the dealer.. Thanks for any feedback.. Oreagle

Hi Oreagle. Curious. I have not noticed the change in speed while on cruise but will check it out. The turbo lag is something that has to be negotiated with and, yes, is still noticeable but not as bad as the 2013 we owned previously. Try driving in sport mode. It may help. In terms of AC I've noticed that my wife manually runs air through the floor and dashboard vents. Hope this helps.
