For my new wife! I put down her down payment and she pays the notes. regardless I never saw me buying a brand new car.
I for one always come out GREAT on car deals. Im no friend to loosing money
Anyways I was looking for a new car for her as her beetle which litterally gave us 0 problems was really starting to show its age.
It had rough idle
randomly dieing
trunk and gas lid switches going
gas mileage horrible
heated seat going out
battery dieing randomly
needed timing belt
no heat engine heat [replaced thermostat]
airbag light
headlights pointing wayyy the fak up.
So Im looking around and have always been interested in TDI jettas, Well looking around they were only -2000--+1000 more than a new one with around 70k. Yes I was finding them for more than you can get them brand new!
Needless to say I went brand new. So far Im loving the 50MPG over the 16mpg I get in my LR3 It drives GREAT, only two complaints are its a PAIN IN THE ARSE TO GET IN. for me.. and im not tall..
Of course my wife had her eyes closed..

Congrats (on the car, and getting hitched!)....my wife and I bought our first brand new car (Mazda3 for her) just before we got married.......now, 1 year later she drives the Rover daily, and I drive the Mazda. She got bit by the Rover bug, and now she's gunning for an LR4.

$23,000!!! you know how many Discos with blown head gaskets that could by!??! you're talking a whole fleet of leaking land rover's that overheat and may or may not start, die when running or simply light up like a christmas tree and reward you with less than 10 mpg. i think its logical if you have 23 land rovers you bought for $1,000 and they each get 10mpg that is 230mpg for your fleet! that's amazing....
just kidding. congrats on the purchase. now when your wife aint looking swap the engines.

Just make sure that no modifications are done to that VW.....they fight you tooth and nail if anything goes wrong....which can be often. Don't get me wrong, I love V'dubs (MK's), but the new NMS's....hummm. The gas mileage thou is astronomical!
