most of u know my rear seats are gone. the carpet and foam is gone. i have some chicken coop flooring down now, helps flatten out the space. thinking about taking out the cargo totes and building a whole storage system. maybe 2 drawers on one side and a large storage area for cooler or fridge on the other side facing the gate door then removable tops to two storage areas closer to the rear doors for recovery gear and camping gear.
things 2 consider, wheel wells and the foot well for the rear seat.
i would like to make it flat so i can actually lay a pad down and sleep back there... any ideas? suggestions? materials u think might work best?

Have you checked over on ExPo? there is a guy with a DII working on something similar I think.
I also have a buddy that is currently working on a drawer system for the DII that he is going to produce and sell. It's all metal, pretty damn stout, so it's not cheap.
This is his prototype...

Yeah I saw those. Not big enough. My rear seats are out so I want too build one that goes into the footwell and over the rear wheelwells and also taller. The one in the top picture is one if the nicer ones I have seen.
