This article was released earlier today

Land Rover Defender to soldier on until 2017

Better news than the fugly DC100. Even better news is that the new 2.2 diesel engine will meet EU6 standards, which means it will maybe be available in North America by 2013-2014.

i heard whispers thru the LR grapevine that they are already working on re-working the dc100 front-end because it got such a poor public response... can't wait to see what they come up with next.

If they can hit a home run with the new DC100 as far as looks go, I think it will be a hit and really integrate the "old clientele" back into the LR community.
