Default Quick Run to the Cascades

Spent a couple hours with the wife out on some forest service roads in the Cascade Mountains about 45 min east of Seattle. Pretty mild day of off pavement exploring that turned into a pretty exciting little run through some deep snow, got up to about 3200 and started to see some pretty decent snow. Traction control worked like a charm (no CDL here) and got us out of some pretty hairy situations. Didn't get any pictures of the crazier stuff, but we were plowing snow with the front diff. Here's a couple pics, enjoy!

Yeah, it turned out to be a great time. It's a shame that the pictures we took, don't really do the view justice. These were taken on forest service roads off Exit 42 (Tinkham Rd) off of I-90 out past North Bend. Many of the roads are closed in the winter due to snow and such, but the main drag was open and was only mildly difficult due to the snow. We probably could have made it up higher, but the snow started to get pretty thick and with one vehicle and no winch, we didn't want to risk getting ourselves stuck up that high

If you're in the Kitsap area, you might want check out the Tahuya ORV. There are also a TON of logging roads out towards the Olympic Peninsula.

Also check out Pacific Northwest Backroad Adventures. There's a run scheduled for Ellensburg on March 19, I posted some info in the "Trip Section"

A few more that give a little more perspective on the road conditions...
