I have used a claybar about 3 times on my disco II. It works magic - i was simply amazed the first time i used the claybar on it. The amount of gunk that came up out of the clearcoat was unbelievable.
The best part about it is, after you use theclaybar, a coat of wax goes on easier, comes off easier, and lasts much longer. From what I was told from the folks at Meguiars, the claybar allows the wax to bond better to the surface of the car, lasting longer.
I didn't think there was much technique to putting it on. Just spray the lubricant, and work the clay in circles until you can't feel the "gunk" anymore. It's labor intensive, but in my opinion, well worth the time and effort.
in my opinion,if you do not clay before you polish and finish, you are wasting your time.

I tried it, and it was pretty amazing. I could not believe the amount of gunk it was pulling out of the paint. Definitely something to do before you do a polishing job or something abrasive.
