The wife and I took the Disco up North for my birthday along with another Rover enthusiast. Nothing too extreme, though I would have been better off had I disconnected the sway bars (does anyone make quick disconnects for Disco IIs?). I also am really wishing I had CDL. Needless to say, it was a fun weekend. We had a blast!

hurts so bad to see you struggle. Please get a cdl!
AND I have heard it helps if you try a little power braking when you have one wheel spinning. I have never tried it.. It kinda makes sense kinda doesn't.. I guess if all your power is going to your front brakes and the brakes brake the front more than the back power should go to the rear, BUT as far as left to right who knowws..
Oh and coming down on a spinning wheel is a good way to break a axle.. That said I do it all the time

I had no idea just how much difference having and not having a CDL makes until I saw those videos and the struggles on what did not appear to be that hard of a trail. I always run offroad with my CDL on and I will have to try it some with it off. I'm not knocking the LR offroading or the trail just marveling at the difference. It looks like my old 1998 Explorer Sport that had full time 4w drive and did not lock up when in low range and had no way to lock it. I had excellent offroad tires on the Explorer and always got stuck on nothing at all which disgusted me.
