Low profile tyres will give you a harsher ride, and tyres will probably be more expensive than normal.

I dont know how tyre sizes work in america, but in the UK, our Disco 2's have 255/55/R18 tyres, and IMO, these are fine...

What do you have on there now? I've got 18 inch with Pirelli Scorpions and I'm looking to change to 16 inch alloys because of the better selection of A/T tires in that size. Maybe a trade with some cash?

Wise move to up grade to 16" wheels, tires are less expensive, much better selection of tread designs and they ride much better on and off the road.

the 18"s look TERRIFIC on the Disco II's (especially the hurricanes ~ as is what i have on my truck)...if you're NOT planning on off-roading much, 18's are the way to go...they're not OVERLY harsh or anything and they can really turn the truck into a head turner....

if you want, i can send you a pic of my truck with michelin pilots and 18" hurricanes....i think that it doesn't get much better looking...

you can email me at tavano_50th@sbcglobal.net and i'll shoot you a pic if you want...
