Default Help on tire size for 18" wheel

Hello all,

Newer here, but do alot of lurking....so prepare for a newbie question.......I've read about all I can find on guys who are ready for new tires on their DII with 18" wheels. Most posts are about what brand andtread type. But I want to know only about size!

I want something larger than the 255/55/18, but not sure how big I can go being stock. I have read the 265/60 work fine and maybe the 285/60 will work.I'm just afraid of ordering a bigger size on-line then thetires end up rubbing.

Soall you experienced guysout there, can someone lay out what works and what doesn't witha stock DII?....eventually I will lift whenthe time is right (wife is the issue ) Thanks for your time and comments.

Order on-line from Discount Tire Direct. They have the lowest prices I could find and they do honor their 30 day "no questions asked" return policy. I know, I used it! Also, their tech people will tell you what's the largest tire you can fit.

I am pretty sure the 285's won't fit and remember the bigger your tire the worse your gas mileage so don't be too eager to go too large.
