Default Mounting Tires

Now I know some of you have mounted more tires then I...

I have been doing it for some time on many different types of changers...

BUT EVERY time I have to change one of these tires It NEVER EVER EVER goes on smoothly...

I just took a goodyear off, took me about 45 minutes...

Now Ive been seating and reseating the new yokohama HT/S and the thing gets hung up on the little bump on the inside. I can hear the cords stretching, and the bead is really soapy...but the bead just wont go over that bump.

Any secrets I can add to my black book? I tried all kinds of tricks...

Are you talking about having a tire switched at a tire store or doing it your self?
There is nothing unusual with a Rover wheel and they except all tire designs.

Myself...at our resto shop...

The problem is...

The Yokohama HT/S bead is really tight.

The L R rim has a 1/2 inch rise on the inside of the rim. Perhaps you have seen the rise? Its about an inch across and goes around the whole rim.

3/4 of the tire seats onto the rim, but then the other 1/4 gets hung up on the lip of the rise and after 60lbs of air (20 pounds to many for seating a bead) it still doesnt seat.

I have to take the air out, break the bead, and reseat...3 or 4 times. When I fill the tire, I hear the cords and the rubber stretching in the tire. After 3 or 4 reseats the tire finally seats.

Yes the tire is lubed.

I looked on google images to find the inside of a LR rim but was unsuccessful..

Does any member here have a rim without a tire on it that they can upload a pic or send me a pic and I will upload it?
