Default Need some advice: MT's on my D1 at stock height.

Hey, I am looking for a decent MT tire for my 97 Discovery. I am at stock height, no lift yet. The question is what size would you guys advise I get. I was looking at 245/75/16 Definity Dakota MT's at PepBoys today and they are selling them for a good deal, buy 3 get one free...

So if I got these in 245/75/16 MT's, will these work good without rubbing ormodification or trimmingon my stock D1?
What other smaller sizes would work w/o any problems, rubbing or trimming???

I really appreciate the advise guys, thank you in advance.

Nice looking tire. You should be fine running that on your truck, I know alot of people that do and are pleased.

Ok, I went and got these tires 245/75/16 a few days ago and they're great. Not as loud as I thought they would be and no rubs. They also give the truck a great look. I am very pleased. I did trim the rear fender wells a bit before I had them put on just in case, but I don't think it was really that necessary. Oh and the guys at PepBoys thought I was nuts!

I will get some pics up later.

Here are some pics I'll share:

-Stock suspended 97 Discovery Series 1.
-Tires are 245/75/16 Definity Dakota MT's from PepBoys.
-Fits great, no rubs or issues, not too loud either...
-Note: I Trimmed the rear fender wells accordingly before I had the tires mounted, I don't think it was too necessarybut better safe then sorry. Still need to round off the edge a bit, sand, and touch up.

you cut about as much as i did to stuff 35s! all you really needed to cut was the lip that bends in on the rear quarter.

Yea, I know I kind of went to town on my hack job, I later found out on Discoweb.com that trimming the lip was sufficient enough for clearance.

Did you need to actually trim? I am looking to do the same on my 96 Disco and prefer not to trim. How loud is it driving with those?

You might want to start a new thread, this one is nearly 5 years old.
