2021 Defender factory order timeline reporting
 

Created this post for people to post information pertaining to their 2021 factory orders (order date, build date, delivery date etc). Some posters have noted delays due to COVID-19 outbreaks. Hoping that this post can provide some clarity for those who are currently waiting on delivery of their 2021 defenders.

I placed my order with my dealer on 02/06/2021. My dealer told me it would take 30 days before we receive a build date and an estimated delivery date from Land Rover. The dealer is estimating delivery will occur in the 4-6 month time period.

The dates have not moved since I placed the order. I check in weekly to see if anything has changed. All good for now!

I placed my order on August 23rd and took receipt of the vehicle on January 21st. It was painfully slow.

Ordered 1/18. Heard from dealer yesterday they have just gotten back an early June delivery date from JLR.

Hi all - new to the forum, but excited to be here. Thought I'd chime in with my first post. These are the dates I received.

Last Amendment Possible 1/20/2021 - Dealer said I could add/remove options up until this date.
Build Date 2/19/2021
Delivery Date 4/9/2021
Customer Handover 4/13/2021

Placed my order 11/19. Original delivery date was 2/14, then 2/21, now 3/5. Waiting....

Placed my order on 12/21, still don't have an official factory scheduled build date. Dealer estimated delivery in April/May originally, now they are saying it's looking more like june/july and it will most likely be a 2022 model year. Really excited for the truck, the waiting is painful!

Does anyone know what is changed/new for 2022 models? My dealer said they would forward me the 2022 dealer info sheet once they receive it so I can review/modify my order based on any 2022 configuration changes. I'll share it here if I get anything, he said they expect to get it in march/april. Might be the one benefit of having to wait so long I guess!

Ordered 9/17/2020. Original delivery date was 12/25/2020. First update to delivery date was 1/8/21, second update was 1/22/21, and I took delivery on 1/17/21. Worth the wait.

My dealership just sent me some info including the name of the boat taking my defender across the Atlantic. She lands on 2/12. Screw fed-ex, this is a whole new level of tracking.
