Just picked up my new Fuji White HSE with black roof today and got to drive it about 3 miles before a weird noise started coming from underneath the vehicle when pressing the brakes. Brought it right back to the dealership where they advised me that the ABS sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. Of course since the truck is so new the dealership doesn't have the part in stock and told me that they have to contact the UK on Monday morning to see how quickly they can get the part shipped to them. So here is my one an only picture of my brand new truck before that well earned Land Rover reputation for quality reared its ugly head. I will say that the drive from the dealership to my house before the issue popped up was very nice in the truck. I loved the driving dynamics and the and P400 power and the seating position is amazing.

 

I sure like the white! Sorry about the bad luck though.

 

Found out that the brake rotors on the first batch came over with some sort of coating that was incorrect. Dealership is being told to drive the trucks for 20-30 miles to wear off the coating before delivery.

 

They had to drive mine 155 mile to deliver to me, so guess I'm good?

 

I was wondering did you get the side storage box? Is it Silver or White?

Looks really good, JPG! I'm glad you got it back. I look forward to hearing any and all of your impressions. (I have an HSE ordered in blue. Won't be here for a while—October if I'm lucky!) I did get to drive one though, and really loved it. How's the Meridian Surround?

 

It looks really awesome. I was curious where the front license plate mount would go. I am also a New Yorker but didn't put front plate mount on yet (still waiting for the plates to arrive).

Here are some random first impressions after having it for a couple of weeks. Brakes are a bit touchy. Power is good but initial throttle response is a little hesitant. Very comfortable when cruising on the highway. Seating position is very good but my wife thinks the side mirrors are too obtrusive for her height. I think the drivers side seat is going to wear quickly on the side where you slide into it. Meridian sound is good but not great. New touch screen is very good...when it works. They already have known issues with it that I am being told won't have a fix until end of July. It is very annoying when the radio just suddenly stops working and won't come back unless you do a hard reset of the system. I really love the way it looks. I know it's not the old Defender but I really think they did a good job with the design based on what Land Rover is now. Sure the front end would look better if it was squared off a little more but it still looks so much better in person than in pictures. Front license plate mount is screwed directly to the front bumper. Looks like an afterthought but I think it looks fine.

My SiriusXM satellite radio also died around the 4th or 5th day of ownership. Is that the issue you had w/ your radio? Did you do the hard reset or the dealership did it?
