Default p300 Turbo Lag Getting Worse

Hey all, I've got a '21 110 p300 with 48k miles. One of the things that impressed me initially with the p300 was the relative lack of turbo lag compared to other vehicles I had driven. It's there obviously, but fairly minimal (in my opinion anyway).

Now, at nearly 50k, I swear the lag is getting worse. It seems to be so much more noticeable over the last several weeks. Everything sounds the same, no check engines lights or anything, just a worsening of the lag. Especially noticeable when doing a rolling stop and then applying throttle to take off again. It feels like I have no power at all until I get to about ~15mph and then suddenly it will leap forward.

Just looking for any thoughts or ideas or if anyone else has experienced similar issues. My other thought was that it potentially not a turbo issue at all but maybe the transmission not shifting down as it should making me feel like I am starting out in 3rd or something.

Thanks for any input

It is probably your transmission since you motioned a rolling stop.. Try a complete stop before you take off again and see if that makes a difference.

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a minute or so? I've had a PCV issue put me into limp mode with no CELs or warnings.

More on the PCV issue. I've replaced one already and just ordered a second (14k miles later). I get a misfire while under load between 2500-3000 RPMs. But it also changes the power delivery and seems hold gears longer than normal. It feels like turbo lag, but I think its just because it isn't downshifting. If you don't let off the throttle when it is happening, it triggers what I assume is limp mode. There are no CELs or warnings, but you will struggle to maintain the speed limit going downhill. Almost like the waste gate is being held open to keep boost at 0psi. 10mm reset gets you out of that limp mode.

You could also try the transmission reset procedure to reset the adaptation values. I've done it once myself after my shifting started feeling really clunky in stop/go traffic. Quick google search for the procedure, but I think the link below is the one I did:

Super helpful! I'll try both of those things! Luckily I am still under warranty for a bit longer.

Could be an exhaust leak that would affect the turbo lag. This might be unrelated but my wife's 2017 Jaguar F-Pace with the 2.0D always had horrible turbo lag and blew up the turbo twice under warranty. Also the ZF 8spd transmission really needs a fluid change every 50-80k miles and clean fluid makes a huge difference with how the ZF transmissions handle. Unfortunately its ~$1,000 for a fluid change

Yeah, resetting the transmission didn't change a thing. But the link to the Denfender2 forums revealed exactly that issue with the ZF transmission. I've got an appt coming up, we'll see. I an at nearly 50k, so I am sure it's time for the fluid change. But 1k!? Ouch
