Default Windows - Global Open / Close?

As I continue to explore my new Defender I am discovering more and more about it's technical capabilities and uniqueness.

Regarding Global window opening and closing using the key fob. Mine only does global open when I press and hold the unlock button. When I press and hold the lock button it does not close all the windows and sunroof. Is this standard operating procedures for USA based trucks or something else?

Pivi 3.2.1

Thanks
Matt

Yes. Not on the USA/Can models. It can be activated aftermarket.

I clearly can't be trusted with anything, including a second key
My neighbors thank you. They were getting tired of seeing me standing by an open truck shaking my key fob at it!
Thanks!

actually on mine if I press and hold the button on the door **** with the car being unlocked it will do global close, it just won't do it from the fob.

Here's another feature they carried over from the LR4...how to crack open a back window to let air out when the sunroof is open: Pull up on one of the rear window buttons then quickly press it once. The window should open just enough to stop that "wind buffeting" noise you get with too much air rushing in and not enough going back out.

The dealer told me it was designed that way as a safety feature so you would be close enough to see if there was anything sticking out the windows.

I thought the windows had an anti pinch feature to prevent anything happening?

whatever the reason, what I mentioned above will let you do global close. I find it more convenient than having to get the key out, as I usually only need it just after I get out and notice a window wasn't closed. would be nice for it to also work from the fob tho.

I thought so too but our Tesla auto closes windows on lock, I don't know if there is a safety system in place or if they just don't care about governmental requirements. I use the door handle global close but I would love to have the option to auto close windows on lock/walk away but even more so I just want the option enabled to unlock doors on walk up.
