This is annual event, for the club usually around this time of year. We meet up at the Whatcom Rd, Tim Hortons and then head out. This years trip was about 500km round trip, with some interesting sections. We ended up with 16 vehicles, 14 Land Rovers, a Suzuki and Isuzu pickup.
The Land Rovers were the usual mix for us, 2 Disco 1's, my Disco 2, 2 LR 3's, 2 Ranger Rovers ,a D90 and bunch of Series and Defenders.

Weather was outstanding for this time of year and t-shirts were perfectly wearable.

Here we are fueling up at the east side of Manning Park, which is not surprisingly called East Gate, this is about 165Km from where we meet up. That is my 04 with the shovel up top, I was at the end of line keeping our fearless leader Andy updated.

After fueling and quick 5 or so km of hi-way and we were on gravel and airing down.

You can see the "little" Suzuki there at the front, they had a few issues with running rich as we got higher, but managed to get it sorted out.

As I mentioned above there were a number of forest fires through the area this summer, below are a few shots of the damage. When people fire bans or flip butts for cigs or other things out the window, I just want them to both have to fight the fires and go through the aftermath

Just before our lunch stop, the stretch from the foreground and all they way up the hill was burnt

Fire seems to travel in weird ways in a forest

This stretch had 3 tough switchbacks and a fair number of burned tree bits on the road.

I believe l saw tinker bell in your video.

Great pictures Richard. You guys do things right out there, seem to always have a good turnout.

The area burned will regenerate over time. We see it here in Michigan quite often, too. Drove through a monster burn that happen a couple years ago in the upper peninsula and it is already coming back. Use to be the natural progression of things, wildfires, before man.

Anyhow, looks like a great time. Is that per liter, gas price?

Yup and that is for the 87, 91 cost me 1.72 a liter it is pretty brutal keeping the Disco full, but I work from home so that helps a lot.

I will have more images to add once some of the others post up, being at the back my stuff tends to be pretty boring.

But yes they are solid group, Andy who mostly leads these does an outstanding job and makes every trip interesting with fun offshoots, and some tiny twisty and technical stuff.

So, this is why the person is walking in the background...it's just more economical...lol.
