2003 Disco W/original Head unit adding Subs
Help Please
I am trying to add some aftermarket subs and an amp. I have been up for 2 nights trying to connect the Line level converter to the rear speaker leads at the radio in the dash. FYI its an Alpine Radio I purchased a Metra harness thinking it would at least provide me a reference point to match up the wiring When I connect the Line converter to what metra says is the rear speakers it shorts those channels out I guess I need a diagram or wiring code for the 2003 LR Disco. Or does anyone know if there is a harness out there that allows for this without cutiing into the factory harness Any help is appreciated Didn't have near the issues when I installed subs in my 2002 Range Rover HSE Chris |

don't waste money on a stereo, get some off road stuff like tires or a lift kit, maybe a grille guard. lol
jk. i have no idea about that ****, all my stereos are stock except my bronco. good luck though |

Wiring your amp shouldn't be that difficult. Have you bought a line output converter? Or are you having most trouble with finding the remote wire? I will tell you that your best bet is to buy an aftermarket cd player. You'll get the most voltage and clarity out of your pre-amp outputs. And even low end cd players will give you the option to control the frequency to your amp(s) and sub(s).

Do not tap into the HD wire harness or speaker wires, what you need to do is tap into the factory sub harness, the line level converter can only get the signal from there because of the factory pre-amp system. Took me forever too, finally got some more bass.
