Hiss in tweeters...

Hey guys-

I've seen some similar posts, but am still stumped. My stock radio was replaced with a Kenwood KVT-516. Since I got the car a month ago, there is a constant hiss in the front post tweeters anytime the radio is on. Even with the volume turned all the way down.

The hiss does not fluctuate with RPMs or anything like that. It is audible anywhere from about 0-5 volume level at which point the music covers the sound. Max volume is 30, but 9-10 is on the upper limit of what is comfortable to listen at.

What could be causing this? I tried to look at the amp to potentially turn down the gain, but it appears the stock amp has no gain. I've messed with every setting on the unit and can't find any way to change it.

Help!

Thanks,

Dustin

Make sure you have a really good ground. I ended up using 12ga stranded wire directly from a clean chasis point to the radio.

Thanks for the tip, I had a feeling this would be the issue. So next question is, assuming I know very little about car audio, where would am I likely to find the ground (i.e. behind the unit, near the amp, etc)?

Thanks!
