radio noise when charging devices

not sure if this is noise or its blocking the signal somehow but i have a 3 socket adapter plugged into the cig lighter and when i plug in the usb to charge my phone its like the radio no longer gets reception unplug radios fine

do i need a noise suppressor for the cig lighter circuit?

you may want to try adding a ferrite bead around the wires going to the charging port. I don't know if this will solve it, but its on my list of things to try. Ios devices seem to be terrible about this, while an XM unit plugged in to the same port doesn't do this.

ok you mean that plastic tube clamped around the wires on some devices?

yes, but the plastic is just a cover. they are iron. they are under $1 at any electronics shop ive been to

i did order somne beads, but the issue resolved itself when i installed the power ports in dash, still using same usb charger but no noise?? guess it was the power splitter thing i was using
