04 Dll Overland build.

Okay, since the old gray rover is done...l need some sort of motivation speaker (picture Chris Farley at the moment) to convince me to start the next build. I've had two days to get started on the white 04...wife's away and free time up the kazoo...but l can't even find the ambition to start removing the engine out of the gray rover. Basically, l just walk out back, look them over and walk back to the house.

So, someone give me one good reason to start this build...or more.

Yes, they use to be next to the garage, now out back by the corn cribs...next stop...if motivational speaker fails...field out back...lol.

Did get the wife's rover washed and waxed today.

Put the lift kit in the travel trailer, too.

Made the lift myself and added support brackets.

Lift blocks were 4", and added support gussets to outer edge for lateral support. The factory had 2 bolts connecting axle bracket to trailer...added 2 more for safe measure. Know this really isn't rover related...but at least you can see that l've not become a total slacker...lol.

You got this!

Trailer looks good, I’m sure having it a bit higher will help with towing quite a bit!

There's nothing like deciding if it's worth a third shot to wear you out......

Third time is a charm :dunno:

If it's a Michigan truck it might take a few more tries than three......... SWMBO nailed it rather succinctly and planted the worry seed in Brian's brain.

You always wanted to do the TD5 diesel conversion (trust me you did) and it drops right in, engine ECU and you are good to go :D

I've noticed...most three year olds have way more ambition than l do...lol.

Granted, yesterday...felt a small twinge of motivation...but it only lasted long enough that l got to my feet...went to take a step, paused...then slipped back into my cozy position in my chair and drifted off to lala land.

Twinge was probably gas. I did the comfy spot all winter. Now that the weather has become warmer I’m on a death mission. I’m relaxing at work on a Holiday weekend. Oh well, warm weather only lasts two weeks here and then I’ll be back to my normal supine self.

The Deputy 05-25-2019 01:35 PM

Twinge, gas...pretty much no difference anymore...lol.

Truth be told...you know your interest in doing another build is weak...when you are looking forward to cleaning the deck on the zeroturn instead.
