I was originally planning a physical lock out so not a big deal to continue down that path was just curious mainly if I was over thinking it.

I don't think you are overthinking it at all. With you A$$ "X" feet in the air this falls in the "measure twice, cut once" category.

Keep in mind I know little about actuators and the internal lockouts they have built in. But if I was building this, the supports in the video are the way to go for sure. One reason you could lock those rigid and take out almost all lateral movement. I would think that would be a bonus in the wind or on uneven ground. Another reason, you will be taking all the stress off the actuators gears by using the supports.

Just a thought (or 2). Ok maybe I'm overthinking it now.

I want the bottom of the RTT platform around 75-76 inches. That leaves the awning at a decent height for my taller friends.

I will likely be doing outriggers as well for lean control

It sounds like a plan. And I have zero need for one of these trailers, BUT now you got me thinking of building one. You know because I need one more project.

I wouldn't be doing this if a RTT hadn't literally fallen into my lap.

The more I look at it though the more I like the direction it's heading and what it will offer me at events.

Going to pick up the propane tank tonight as I'll need it this weekend. Think I'll also pick up some of the Husky work boxes as well.

I want to point out that this thread and my design ideas are definitely open for discussion or debate. I welcome other folks ideas or solutions for road blocks I hit or lessons you have learned so don't be afraid to post up.

Hoping to have a rough drawing of my plan in the next couple days.

So I was sent to Home Depot to get a couple wreaths.

Instead I came home with a 20lb propane tank and a Husky 50 gallon job box. Looking at the measurements, I should be able to fit, my grill, stove, coffee maker, camp kitchen, pots pans plates and utensils all in one rolling bin. It has a lock, two heavy clasps, rubber seal, extendable handle and large rubber wheels. The nice size is it will be a perfect fit in the trailer down the road.

I'll try packing it up tomorrow for this coming weekends event and see how much really fits.

That's a great score. I have one of those Husky boxes and it takes a beating. Not like a Pelican Case, but it's not trying to be one either.

And I have your actuator issue all sorted out. As we all know Land Rovers and anything air ride/suspension or in this case lift works great together. So here you go...this is too funny on many levels.

oddly that video is what got me heading down the actuator rabbit hole. Just didn't want to build a fawking shed on wheels though lol.

Keeping the weight down, the overall height low and the trailer narrow I think will help keep my MPG from completely tanking on the highway. I want to have this ready to roll for SCARR in April down in Texas.

Also really could not find much in air actuators.

I think a lot of the Husky stuff is great value for the money. Been switching over to them for tool storage and a lot of hand tools as of late, with what I view as the pending demise of Craftsman.

Best part of the shopping trip I was sent on?

Forgot to buy the wreaths......

I do that all the time. My girlfriend is ready to kill me when I forget to get, of course her stuff. Just last week I was at Lowe's and she was texting me non stop the "reminder list". So, I turned off the phone...seemed like a good idea. I'm guessing about an hour after the last text, and guess who is walking into the tool section . She was sooooo Pissed Off...." I knew you were going to forget XYZ" She was right, but all I can say is thank God we had 2 cars.
