A good HAM shop will get you set up and tuned in properly, it's how they stay in business. I have both HAM and CB (hand held) I find the HAM far superior for long distance communication. When I ran with a Jeep group first, they all had CB so that is what I got then. Sold the Pinzgauer and the CB went with it. Rather than spend the bucks for another CB I got HAM, but for those that we go out with that don't have either I let someone use my little HAM handheld that I keep as a spare.
Because I am a Vet there was a test that didn't cost me to take, couldn't pass that up.
Good to know I may look into it as it would not be any harder to add that along with the CB. Have to see if there is a Ham radio shop in the area. Seems like around here specialty places like that are few and far between
lol my daughter said the same thing. Been cold and rainy so I haven't got much done with it lately. Next Wed it is going in for a new exhaust. So that will make it much more drive-able and me less dead from fumes.
The leak is bad, probably the worst I have ever driven.
So of course today it was nice out so when I got off duty early I rolled the windows down and opened the vent windows so I could go to Home Depot..
Picked up an early Christmas present from my Dad. A new air compressor, to replace my fired 20ish year old craftsman unit. 30 gallon Husky. I liked the fact it comes with dual air outlets built in.
Bit of a job unloading it alone, box says 118 pounds but I don't think it's that heavy just awkward.
That is a good compressor. Much quieter than my 21 gal That I had. One thing to keep an eye on is the regulator, Husky had to replace mine twice under warranty in a 3 month span. Both times it would start to leak at the adjuster. The third one they sent me has been great for 8 months now.
Cool thanks for the heads up on the regulator I'll keep an eye on it. Definitely quieter than my 20 year old Craftsman was. Price wise it would be hard to beat the bang for the buck you get with the Husky line.
Craftsman is a shadow of it's former self in what is offered now.
So wondered through the local pull a part and found a 40/20/40 bench out of a newer f150 I think I can make work with my OBS. Of course me being a rocket scientist I did not bring torx sockets with me so I have to go back tomorrow...
