Yeah, busted the timing chain at work last year and my pal Linette sold it to me the next morning. She couldn't deal with it (neither could I for awhile). I had it towed from work to my house where I rushed it last fall and screwed up. The tough thing was I couldn't get indoors without it being under it's own power because of the gravel drive and sharp turn and incline into the pole barn. I finally got it inside on Memorial Day this year but then it became so god awful hot it would've been like working in an easy bake oven.....

Not bad for $50 purchase price. $450 in the head to replace 16 dished valves with flat faced and a decking to up compression. And a whole lotta love and sore everything to do it twice to get it right.... 32 mpg love. I'm future proofed for gasoline price volatility. I wouldn't have done this at all if the car hadn't been taken care of by all the previous owners. I owe them all the honors. It's very rare you get to meet all the previous owners (except the original because she passed away).

I don't know about you guys but I could use some roof ventilation without the hassle of a sunroof..... The rise on the roof would be a great spot for something like the windshield vents on the Series...... I don't use A/C since it's usually frozen water up here..... but when the sun's out it does get a little toasty.

All Righty Then............Got the biscuit warmers installed!!!

Worked out great, find placement, trace, tape off the no-go area.....

Remove the steel........Umm, wait.....I mean the non ferrous aluminum alloy... I used the all mighty, righteous Dewalt DW402 for this (not available in any store) and a .045 cut off wheel....slick as bull butter, less than 5 minutes to remove both sides!

As I removed each panel cut, it was AMAIZING how much heat was escaping, it was nuts!

So here we go, botta bing botta BOOOOOM!

DADDY LIKES!!!
And having done this on similar rigs in the past, I already know it will benefit.

GIDDY UP!

Looks good man, I like it

I wonder how it would look if you had taken them full length.

Thanks!
Already have cutting vendors interested, this would be flat panel design with Land Rover logo cut in as the vent........

On my end, I was trying to be conservative yet effective to release heat, think I'm there.

Conservative and you? Seriously?

Man I take a few days off from here and the for sale section is a bash fest and you and IH have sparked a pretty serious bro-mance and then you say you're being conservative

I'm dying here

Nicely executed, very pro fit and finish!

Liked the swamp cooler idea although the cannon on top of the Disco might look a little Haji.

LOL......I'm surprised how much 'Scouts has been on myself, took advantage of it.......but you know, he'll leave me all distraught like a school girl in a checkered dress once the work week starts..........

Actually, over my time here.......his help has been unreplaceable, I'm glad we get along and get each other's humor........he's spot on for Rover advise, but he gets a little weird if you start making barn yard animal references....get's weird quick!..
