The Just Enough Essential Parts is finally mechanically worthy to drive daily. Replaced the fuel pump and inline filter (both easier than the Landy) and removed at least a handful of sand from the fuel tank, the inline had at least a tablespoon of sand. Fuel lines are stainless, go figure Land Rover. Replaced the cooling fan relay and the electric cooling fan motor, both original (no fan clutch for this pup). Replaced the battery. Needs plugs and should probably replace the injectors. Most parts on it are original, not bad for 200k. I cleaned up the IACV and port, super easy, removed the throttle body and plucked the IACV off, hit it with a battery terminal brush, some carb cleaner done. Purrs like a kitten, starts right up first poke of the key, idles around 1k and then settles nice and easy. I'll tell ya, pound for pound I'd take the GC over a D2 any day of the week. Front springs have sagged so looking to get a 2" lift with constant rate springs instead of the variable it has. That should about do it for me. We'll see where it goes next year. Just missed a 2WD 01 with the same paint color that was being parted from the South, fenders and rear cargo door already snagged - DANG!

You may now understand my previous life, and why I say what I do.
Pull a plug, check it, replace or leave them alone........Don't bother with the injectors.....it sounds as if they're fine......I'd call it good for now! Springs you can look for V8 springs, used even.....you'll get rid of that road sag on the cheap!
They're decent rigs for the short money!!!!
I wouldn't expect any mechanical surprises any time soon from what you describe........unless you let me borrow it!

Okay, I now have a change of opinion.......
It's been a little colder than usual......
Right around -26 over nights for the last week.......day time highs 5-15 above.
Even with that said, I've lived 3.5 hours North of here in the past, much colder,
and I never experienced this sort of effortless failure on any previous vehicle
I've owned.....and there's been many...
The piston seals in my 2 front brake calipers failed resulting in full drainage of
the brake system......failed, while simply being parked.....really takes the cake!
Unbelievable.....I did a full bleed in July...
It could have at least waited for me to be driving it so when they failed I could
aim for a telephone pole or something........but no, now I have to spend money and fix it...
She's such a looooooooser!!!! No, I am not happy.

I've been waiting for some one to actually say that......
I'm sorry you fell victim to that thought......
Like I previously stated, I spent years 3.5 hours further North than
here in years past....driving older vehicles than this one of supposed
lesser quality, with even lesser quality fluid's than today......
It's just sad.......sad, sad, sad........
