Default steering wobble

I bought a crashed defender td5. it was put in to a ditch it bent the steering stop
and had some panel damage .Have seen that the tye bar in front of the axal the one between the p.a.s bracket and the axel casing mount hole has been ovaled. Was planing on welding a washer over the hole both sides of the bracket. Does any body think that it may have bent the axle casing .Is there any thing i should look for. The chassy does not look bent in any way.I have good knowledge of L/R's.Have bought a lot of crashed L/R's.I have an 86 R/R series 1 hybrid
and in all the terrible things i have done 2 it have not managed to bend that bit and my discovery had been crashed in 2 a wall when i got it and it had a big chunk out of the alloy when it went in 2 a ditch that did not damage that bit .
The td5 was not insured and the garage that it was at could not track down why it wobbled. They did bang out the body work and gave it back 2 the bloke that crashed it he then drove it and decided to sell it 2 me

thank stephen
